About retreat catering
Yoga is often called the sister science of Ayurveda. If you are leading a yoga retreat and want to deeply nourish, heal and pamper your participants; pairing your retreat with 100% fresh, sattvic, Ayurvedic meals will leave your yogis in a state of bliss.
I create balancing meals that allow your yogi’s to feel energized, fulfilled and nourished during their retreat. Cooking at retreats is truly a labor of love, and providing Ayurvedic meals to participants allows for them to be more present, connected and at ease during their experience.
What meals are made of
Breakfast will always include a caffeinated black tea chai and decaffeinated rooibos chai and fresh almond milk, an assortment of boxed teas. Breakfast menu samples include buckwheat cake, oatmeal, kunyi (kangee), sweet potato smoothie, and more!
Lunches/dinners are generally comprised of:
Grains
Legumes
Two vegetable dishes
One or two chutneys/sauces
You will also have the option for homemade breads, chapatis, pancakes (sweet and savory), corn cakes, and cookies.
Menus are customizable to meet your participants needs.
The magic in the cooking
I shop primarily at farmers markets, purchasing 100% organic foods.
I offer freshly ground spices for maximum prana (life force).
I cook almost all of my meals in Soma Ghee (ghee made during a full moon)
I freshly mill an assortment of grain varieties yielding high quality, easy to digest flours for baking. I also only purchase the highest quality organic, non-gmo grains.
I make fresh paneer cheese and buttermilk from a high quality source (farmers who I know treat their cows extremely well, which has an effect on the dairy making it much easier to digest.)
I also process my own oat groats, resulting in freshly rolled oats for a delicious Ayurvedic oatmeal.
Retreat experiences can change participants' lives, and they always change mine. If you are interested in collaborating and working together, I truly can not wait to hear from you.
